Several years ago, the founders of B Loved felt called to the town of Sodo, Ethiopia—one of the poorest cities in the country. In Sodo, many children become orphans after losing both parents to HIV or illness.

With the help of local partners, we set out to find the best way to care for these children and prepare them for the future. That mission became the B Loved Foundation—a nonprofit built on the belief that every child deserves to be loved.

We created small homes of 8 children each, with hired mothers living in each home to provide love, stability, and care. Families are formed with brothers, sisters, and a mom—giving children the next best thing to a biological family. A project director serves as a father figure, completing the family structure.

Today, B Loved is caring for 91 children in 12 homes, and we are working on launching a vocational training center to help these kids build skills for their future.
